ATP: Knee problems again!

Rafael Nadal won his participation in the invitation tournament, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi (28. till 30. December), because of persistent problems at the right knee.

The new tennis year begins for Rafael Nadal like the old one ended – with injuries. Investigations in Barcelona have confirmed that the damaged knee of the world’s number one player does not allow for a start in Abu Dhabi.

Nadal had already cancelled the planned week of training with Joao Sousa and said,”He doesn’t feel well and is still not able to train with me in his academy,”the Portuguese said.

Nadal is replaced in Abu Dhabi by Roberto Bautista Agut, who confirmed his participation via Twitter. Stan Wawrinka and Milos Raonic had already announced their departure due to injury a few days ago.
