ATP: Tim Henman advises Andy Murray to be patient

While only question marks about Serena Williams open up at the upcoming Australian Open on the women’s side, the status of several top players is unclear. That Andy Murray’s too.

There is never a lack of good advice during the play-free period, even if some of them may not come from the heart at all. In the case of Tim Henman, however, it is safe to assume that these are actually meant so honestly. The relationship of the longstanding British number one to the entire Murray family is extremely good, to Andy, who has achieved something with his Grand Slam successes, which caused Henman to fail in his career, anyway.

In Andy’s career, only triumphs in the majors are important, so he should make sure that he’s completely fit “It’s difficult enough to succeed in world tennis, even with 100 percent health.

“If he’s only 90 percent healthy, he might be able to make a few rounds before his body gives up. What would that do? Andy should be patient and make sure he’s perfectly healthy. The same goes for Djokovic, who I don’t know what he’s done so far.”

At the recent Grand Slam tournament in New York City, Murray had called, but then withdrew,”I think at the US Open, where so many players pulled out, Andy just wanted to see what his options were,”Henman continues,”He tried, but didn’t actually go to court at all,” Andy Murray learned his lessons from that.
