ATP: Together strong: Zverev brothers together in gymnastics

Alexander Zverev and his older brother Mischa Zverev are in the middle of preparing for the coming season. The pair of brothers lifted dumbbells together in Monte Carlo.

The brothers Alexander and Mischa Zverev take a look behind the scenes and let tennis fans participate in their preparations for the new season. In Monte Carlo, the tennis brothers live next door to each other on the same floor and spend their time together in the gym. The ATP released a video showing “Sascha” and Misha training. The younger one’s glasses are a little unfamiliar – on the court you can see the number four in the world without a frame on the nose.

Together with fitness coach Jez Green, they are working on stability and strength in the fitness room:”It’s good to not be alone in the gym and to have someone you know,”said 20-year-old Alexander, explaining the cooperation with his brother. For Green, too, the two players’ joint training has something good to offer:”The two push each other and thus become even better.

“Sasha” and Misha spent the entire off-season rung in with the 30-year-old’s wedding.

For Alexander, the preparation is primarily about repeating last year’s sensational season and not taking the weak end of the season with him into the year 2018. In 2017, the 20-year-old won two Master’s titles in Rome and Montreal, catapulting himself to third place in the world rankings. Mischa also played well in the past twelve months and achieved a personal career high.

The way to the gym is ideal:”You don’t have to walk far to get there. It’s great to be able to sleep in your own bed,”Mischa added. The studio is located in the basement of the skyscraper in which the entire Zverev family resides.

Besides all the work, the brothers and sisters obviously have fun at work. The impressions from Monte Carlo can be found here in the video:
