Australian Open: Eurosport with frontman Becker broadcasts Australian Open live

With frontman Boris Becker, the pan-European TV station Eurosport will be reporting daily live and comprehensive on the Australian Open of the tennis pros from Monday onwards.

On its platforms Eurosport 1 and 2 as well as the Eurosport Player there are a total of 300 live hours of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year from 15. till 28. January in Melbourne.

Becker will once again analyse the top games in his “Matchball Becker” format together with Matthias Stach:”I am looking forward to Federer, Nadal, Djokovic of course, Zverev, Kyrgios and Thiem. The difference in performance is much smaller than last year. 2018 will be a tournament of – I call them legends – against those who want to become one. These are the most beautiful games,”said the six-time Grand Slam winner, who had won the Australian Open in 1991 and 1996.

Becker expects a lot from Angelique Kerber. The former world number one has not been defeated in the six games of the year so far,”I think Angie Kerber can surprise us positively. I was thrilled how she won the four matches in Perth (Hopman Cup, Red.) without losing the set. Angie won the tournament two years ago, not so long ago. I’m curious.”

Kerber had celebrated her first Grand Slam triumph in Melbourne in 2016. Later in the year I won the US Open.
