WTA: Lisicki returns to the tour at the end of January

The former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki returns to the tournament circus after a successful knee operation at the end of January. The 28-year-old plans to start at the WTA tournament from 29. January in Taiwan’s capital Taipei.

The Berliner had injured her knee in the semi-final in Limoges at the beginning of November and later had to undergo surgery. Now she is back in “full training, I am again the happiest person”, says Lisicki on Instagram.

“The operation went well,”Lisicki continued,”it was a tough time for me, another setback.”

Only in the week before Limoges she had made her comeback in Luxembourg after a lengthy leg injury. In the world rankings, the former number twelve has meanwhile slipped to position 245.
