Australian Open: Qualifier Brown loses in Melbourne

After Philipp Kohlschreiber, Dustin Brown is the second German tennis professional to be eliminated from the Australian Open in Melbourne.

The former Davis Cup player from Winsen/Aller was defeated by the Portuguese Joao Sousa after 2:51 hours 4:6,3:6,6:4,7:6 (7:4), 1:6. This means that the 33-year-old Brown has still not won a match after his fourth participation in the first Grand Slam of the year.

A total of ten German players had qualified for the main draw in Melbourne. On Tuesday, hopeful Alexander Zverev (Hamburg/No. 4) against Thomas Fabbiano from Italy intervenes in the action. His brother Mischa Zverev (No. 32) is also on duty against Chung Hyeon from South Korea.
