Australian Open: Only Oliver Marach overlooks the heat wave

Three matches with Austrian participation, only one success: Oliver Marach continued his successful run alongside Mate Pavic. Alexander Peya and Philipp Oswald, however, retired.

With temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius, Marach and his Croatian partner Mate Pavic had to go over three sets, beating Artem Sitak and Wesley Koolhof 6:7 (5), 6:4 and 6:4 respectively.

Philipp Oswald and old master Max Mirnyi lost with the exact same result against Bob and Mike Bryan. Alexander Peya and Nikola Mektic were also close: Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah won 7:6 (5) and 7:5.

Marach and Matic remain undefeated in the still young season: In Auckland they won the title only a week ago against Oswald/Mirnyi, and at the beginning of the year in Doha they had stayed victorious against Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray in the final against Bruno Soares and Jamie Murray.
