Australian Open: Yet another title for Germany?

The German juniors Rudolf Molleker and Henri Squire are in the doubles finals at the Australian Open and meet the French pair Gaston/Tabur.

From a German point of view, things didn’t go well for the men at the Australian Open. But that’s only half the truth, because a certain Rudi Molleker and his double partner Henri Squire are in the junior doubles finals in Melbourne.

In the singles competition, the youngster’s jewel, Molleker, had already finished in the round of sixteen when the 17-year-old had to admit defeat to Serbian Miladinovic.

Molleker is regarded as one of the most promising young players in Germany and has been working with the DTB for some time now on his future.

Before going back to the home, however, a trophy should be packed. On their way to the final, the two 17-year-olds survived two match breaks and beat the Argentinian-Romanian doubles Tirante/Jianu in the semi-finals. In the final match against the French Gaston/Tabur.
