Handball European Championship: Gottfridsson awarded MVP title

The Swedish Bundesliga professional Jim Gottfridsson has been awarded MVP at the end of the European Handball Championships in Croatia.

The backroom player from SG Flensburg-Handewitt, the German Bundesliga team, was in the lead when it came to the voting of fans and experts.

With left-winger Manuel Strlek (Croatia) and playmaker Sander Sagosen (Norway), two players were elected to the tournament’s All-Star team, who already made the leap into the team at the 2016 European Championship. A German player is not included.

Left back: Mikkel Hansen (Denmark)

Rear centre: Sander Sagosen (Norway)

Rear right: Alex Dushebayev (Spain)

Outside right: Ferran Sole (Spain)

Best defensive player: Jakov Gojun (Croatia)

MVP: Jim Gottfridsson (Sweden)
