Julia Görges won the WTA-Tournament in St. Gallen. Petersburg reached the quarter-finals with ease. The 34 year old Italian Roberta Vinci defeated number five of the seed list 7-5,6-0 and thus celebrated her first victory in her fourth duel with the former US Open finalist.

The next opponent of Görges in the competition worth 799,000 dollars is 18-year-old Russian qualifier Jelena Rybakina.

For 29-year-old Görges, who scored a total of ten aces against Vinci, it was the 17th minute. Victory in the last 18 matches.
