EuroLeague: Media: Pesic takes over FC Barcelona until the end of the season

Svetislav Pesic appears to be the new coach of FC Barcelona. According to a media report, the former coach of FC Bayern Bayern and the German national team will take over the Catalans until the end of the season.

Pesic, who was already retired, will be the successor of the dismissed Sito Alonso, according to a report by Mundo Deportivo. Pesic will be seated on the bench at the next game of Barcas in the ACB league against Bilbao.

The 68-year-old returns to his former job site. FC Barcelona won the EuroLeague for the first time in 2003 under Pesic. Overall, the Serbian was active in Catalonia from 2002 to 2004.

Pesic is supposed to limit the Blaugrana’s damage, as the team already has no chance of winning the EuroLeague playoffs. Real Madrid are also ten points behind the leaders of the standings nationally.

Pesic was coach of FC Bayern Bayern from 2012 to 2016 and was national coach at the DBB from 1987 to 1993 and 2012.
