BBL: Bayreuth consolidates fourth place – Bamberg ousted from play-off place

Basketball Bundesliga club medi Bayreuth has consolidated its strategically important fourth place in the standings twelve rounds ahead of the main round.

In the fight for the home advantage in the playoff quarter-finals, the Franconians increased their lead to four points, with a 97-85 (50-43) defeat of Telekom Baskets Bonn and the simultaneous 83-91 (45-53) defeat of EWE Baskets Oldenburg in second place in the Alba Berlin standings.

Meanwhile, the Frankfurt Skyline squeezed out the stumbling champion Brose Bamberg from eighth and final play-off place with a 78:77 (41:31) at ratiopharm Ulm.
