Juan Carlos Ferrero and Alexander Zverev have been a successful duo in the tennis scene since last year. The cooperation with Coach Ferrero gives the young German a great opportunity to train at one of the best tennis schools in the world – the JC Ferrero equelite Sport Academy.
Tennis academies there are so many around the globe. Talentschmiede, in which young actors are formed and driven into the path of professional life with a lot of sweat and enthusiasm. Renowned active and former professionals from the tennis circuit have dedicated themselves to this task, one of them is the Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero. However, the JC Ferrero equelite Sport Academy is not only one of many – the tennis academy of the former number one in the world is among the best of its kind.
The Academy was founded in the Spanish region near Valencia more than 25 years ago. At that time Antonio Martinez Cascales created the training location – with only two tennis courts for training. Now – more than two decades later – an area of over 120,000 square metres with 20 courts that leave nothing to be desired for the tennis heart. Hard-court and sand courts are located around the training campus, which is lined with hotel complexes, pools and green areas and offers a variety of activities for the players. At the age of 10, Ferrero first became acquainted with the then tennis school and was formed into a world-class professional. Today the 37-year-old lives with his family on the grounds “I train with our players as often as possible. I love to play with them, give them advice, and they gratefully accept that,”Ferrero explained in the tennisnet. com interview.

In addition to the academy, the introverted and always charming 2003 French Open winner Alexander Zverev has recently joined the German number one. Since the summer of last year Ferrero has been part of the Zverev Clan and travels around the world with the 20-year-old. Good for the one who has such a trainer – because:”Sascha” does not necessarily have to look for a hitting partner. At the Australian Open 2018, the current number four in the world beat Ferrero before his matches. Six years after the end of his career, the 37-year-old is still in top physical shape.
The JC Ferrero equelite Sport Academy also attaches great importance to this. The players will find an all-round program on site. In addition to the training on the court there are fitness studios, wellness rooms for regeneration and physiotherapists on the grounds. For example, top 10 player Pablo Carreno Busta regularly uses these services and trains mainly in Villena, Spain.
It is also clear that Zverev wants to take advantage of this opportunity for highly professional training. In addition to his residence in Monte Carlo, the German will most likely prepare himself for the clay court season in the academy of his coach.
We also provide for the next generation of players – not only in the tennis sector. Care is also taken for the time after the career. The young candidates for the top positions in the ranking will receive a local school education with exams, which will prepare them for life away from the tennis court “Anyone who is interested should come and visit us. Then everyone will soon know that he should stay. It is not only the training, it is the feeling of security and esteem that you get with us. We treat all players equally. And when they work hard and do their best, it is a pleasure for us to help them and guide them on their way,”said Coach and Academy Director Ferrero proudly.
Of course, the Academy is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and playsight technology on the courts. The new technology provides trainers and players with real-time training and game data to analyze stroke speed, ball rotation or radius of motion.
Due to the technical and infrastructural conditions, professional tennis tournaments also take place on the tennis campus. Up to nine tournaments are held each year, including two ITF tournaments, which are divided into the senior and youth sections. Ferrero also occasionally swings the tennis racket and fights for points.
However, Ferrero sees his main job alongside the coaching job with Alexander Zverev in another area:”I am responsible for the training sessions and the trainers. I try to get to the players and coaches as often as possible. But even if it’s not going to end, I’m still floating around on the facility and watching the training sessions. If there are any problems or if I notice anything that can be improved, I’ll talk to the coaches and the players if necessary.”
The Academy announced the latest development via its Twitter account. It seems that the JC Ferrero equelite Sport Academy will host a Challenger tournament and reinforce its position as one of the best tennis schools in the world. The tournament is supported by the Spanish Tennis Association and Mapfre.
