Professional boxer Vincent Feigenbutz (Karlsruhe) will continue to work on his next World Cup chance this weekend.

In Ludwigsburg, the 22-year-old super middleweight defended his IBF Intercontinental title against the South African Ryno Liebenberg on Saturday. For Feigenbutz it’s the 30 professional fights (up to now 27 victories, two defeats).

“One of us will be on the ground in the end,”Liebenberg said before the fight. Feigenbutz promptly countered:”Yes, he is right. There will be one in the end. This will be Ryno Liebenberg,” Figenbutz had previously prepared himself in a tough training camp in the snow of Slovenia.

If youngster Liebenberg beats Liebenberg, he may still have a world championship fight this year. In the previous year, Feigenbutz fought his first World Cup fight against the Italian Giovanni de Carolis with a technical knockout. to become the youngest German champion in boxing history.
