In the final of the ATP tournament in New York, local hero Sam Querrey will face South African Kevin Anderson and take revenge for the semi-finals at the US Open.
Two service giants face each other in the final in New York. The local hero Sam Querrey and the South African Kevin Anderson meet in the Big Apple.
Anderson in particular seems to be particularly comfortable in New York. In September last year, the 2.03-metre man was in the final of the US Open against Rafael Nadal and will continue to play strong tennis in the USA this week.
The semi-final of the US Open 2017 against Sam Querrey will be reissued in the final. The serve giant, who is also two metres tall, is turning up again and defeated Adrian Mannarino in three sets 6:7 (5), 7:5 and 6:3 and is now taking revenge for his defeat in his home country a few months ago.
Anderson also had to go over three sets in the semi-finals and knocked out Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-1,3-6 and 7-6 (4). In the first set in particular, the South African seemed to be able to do just about anything, leading 5-0.
In the final the balls will have to endure some hard impacts.
