Handball: Gummersbach liberation strike against Ludwigshafen

Old champion VfL Gummersbach has managed a liberation stroke in the Handball Bundesliga with his first victory in the new year.

The team of coach Denis Bahtijarevic beat the penultimate in the standings, Eulen Ludwigshafen, in front of the home crowd with 31:26 (17:11) and celebrated the first victory after six league defeats in a row. As a result, Gummersbach enlarged as Table 14. The team from Ludwigshafen, which had been victorious since the beginning of October, moved up to five points.

Meanwhile, TV Hüttenberg missed the jump to one of the safe places in the standings. The rising star from Hesse lost 28:35 (14:17) at the TSV GWD Minden and lost for the fifth time in a row. Minden remains in twelfth place.
