NBA star Dennis Schröder has announced that he wants to buy his home club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig.
“In any case, we want to take on a lot of work here, and of course we want to help financially,” said the international player on the brink of the Braunschweig home win over Central German BC at Telekom Sports on Sunday:”I think I’ll buy the team too, so that as co-owner I’ll be in charge.
Atlanta Hawks’ top scorer has big plans for the lions:”We definitely want to build a top-five team in Germany here. This is my dream, because I come from Brunswick. We’re definitely going to work on that.”
Schröder placed his bet in the World Cup qualifying match against Austria in Braunschweig (29. June / 7.30 pm):”That would definitely mean a lot to me. The season’s not over in Atlanta yet, so I don’t want to make any promises. When I’m fit, I’ll definitely play.”
At the World Championships in China in September 2019, Schröder is aiming for a “medal” in any case. Schröder completes his fifth NBA season at the Hawks. As the Eastern Conference’s last runner-up after 59 games with only 18 wins, Atlanta has virtually no chance of participating in the play-offs.
