The short-trackers of hosts and record Olympic champion South Korea triumphed in the 3000m relay at the winter games in Pyeongchang. The 1500-metre Olympic gold medalist Choi Minjeong’s quartet won the final before Italy and won the gold medal for the sixth time since the premiere of the competition in 1988.

Bronze went to the Netherlands, winner of the B-final as China and Canada were disqualified after a video analysis.

South Korea, which competed with Choi Minjeong, Kim Alang, Kim Yejin and Shim Sukhee, had previously triumphed in 1994,1998,2002,2006 and 2014 in Sochi.
