ATP: Mischa Zverev wins opening match in Marseille

Mischa Zverev has overcome his opening hurdle at the ATP tournament in Marseille. The hamburger defeated the Slovenian Blaz Kavcic 6:4,6:4 on Wednesday.

It was only Zverev’s second win of the season on the Tour. In Brisbane, the 30-year-old beat Australian John-Patrick Smith in round one.

In the round of sixteen, the World Rankings 53rd. on the ninth seeded Russian Karen Khachanov. On Tuesday evening Maximilian Marterer (Nuremberg) was eliminated after a 6:7 (3:7), 6:7 (4:7) against Gilles Simon (France).
