ATP: Misha Zverev is subject to Khachanov in Marseille

The Hamburg tennis pro Mischa Zverev has been eliminated in the second round of the ATP tournament in Marseille. The 30-year-old was defeated by the ninth seeded Russian Karen Khachanov in only 51 minutes 2:6,1:6.

Zverev thus claimed his sixth defeat in the eighth match of the year. On Wednesday, the older brother of Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev had prevailed against the Slovenian Blaz Kavcic in the opening round.

At the Australian Open, Zverev had to give up in the first round against Chung Hyeon (South Korea) in the semi-final at 2:6,1:4. He had been injured by a shoulder injury and affected by an infection, and therefore missed out on the Davis Cup first-round victory in Australia (3-1) at the beginning of February. Since then, Zverev has not yet found his form again.
