ATP: According to “Marca” – Zverev breaks up with Ferrero, Becker joins in

According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Alexander Zverev is said to have broken up with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero. Boris Becker is to assume a role in the coaching team of Germany’s No. 1 in the future.

Ferrero and Zverev would have completed the separation after the Australian Open in Melbourne. There the Hamburg-born Hyeon Chung was inferior in five sets. Head coach in Team Zverev is father Alexander senior, with Ferrero in the team the German number one in Montréal has won the title at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament there. In the end, however, there would have been different views on how cooperation should be structured.

According to “Marca”, Boris Becker is to play an advisory role in the Zverev team. Already at the last appearance of the 20-year-old in Rotterdam, the three-time Wimbledon champion had been a guest in the Box Zverevs, at that time, however, in his function as “Head of Men’s Tennis” of the German Tennis Federation.
