ATP: Gojowczyk enters Delray Beach semi-finals

Peter Gojowczyk is back in the semi-finals of an ATP tournament for the first time since his win in Metz last September. The world rankings 64. from Munich defeated the US-American Reilly Opelka in Delray Beach in the round of the best eight after 1:20 hours with 7:6 (7:5), 6:3.

In the final round of the $622,675 tournament in Florida, the 28-year-old will face the American Steve Johnson, who is ranked 13th better than Gojowczyk in the ranking.

Gojowczyk had reached the quarter-finals at his first two tournaments of the season in Doha/Katar and Auckland/New Zealand, but failed to make it to the semi-finals. Last week, the German number five gave up in the last sixteen at the indoor tournament in New York.
