WTA: Budapest: Alison van Uytvanck beats Dominika Cibulkova in the final

Alison van Uytvanck won the WTA tournament in Budapest on Sunday. In the final the Belgian won against top seed Dominika Cibulkova from Slovakia after a tough fight over two hours and 13 minutes with 6:3,3:6,7:5.

For van Uytvanck, number 80 in the WTA rankings, winning the event, endowed with $250,000, was the second tournament success of her career. Last year, it was a first-time success in Quebec City.

Cibulkova’s only duel so far has been 3-6,6-3,8-6,8-6 in Wimbledon 2014:”That’s not all I wanted to achieve, but I’m happy about this week,”Cibulkova said after the match.
