ATP: Florian Mayer is subject to Roberto Bautista Agut in Dubai

No sensation for Florian Mayer in Dubai: the long-time German Davis Cup player was defeated by Roberto Bautista Agut with 3:6 and 4:6.

The match lasted just under 77 minutes at the Center Court in Dubai and then the Spaniard, who had placed third, made the move into the next round clear. Although Mayer was able to reduce his opponent’s serve three times, the player from Bayreuth admitted five breaks. Bautista Agut ended up with 16 points more than his opponent and will now face either Joao Sousa or Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

At the start of the first day of the tournament in Dubai, Philipp Kohlschreiber prevailed over French qualifier Gleb Sakharov. Kohlschreiber plays Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece in round two.
