ATP:”Complicated operation”: Stebe has to stay out for a long time

Cedrik-Marcel Stebe (27) remains true to his injury. The world ranking-95. underwent surgery for persistent pain in the right wrist.

It was a difficult decision, but the only way to get another chance to play competitive tennis again,”Stebe wrote.

It was cancelled for “a long time” because “it was a complicated operation”. The left-hander, who was already affected by the problems at the Australian Open in January, said he will be starting the rehab in two weeks’ time. The clear defeat in Melbourne against his fellow countryman Maximilian Marterer was Stebes’ last match on the professional tour so far.

Already in the past Stebe often had to fight with injuries. After his Davis Cup debut in 2012, he was stopped by back pain, inflammation of the pubis, lumbar spine problems and groin surgery. It wasn’t until 2016 that he returned to the tour and made his comeback in September 2017 in Portugal in the German Davis Cup team.
