Handball: THW Kiel extends with Ekberg until 2021

Handball record champion THW Kiel will also be able to build on Niclas Ekberg’s right wing in the future.

The Swedish Vice European Champion extended his contract, which originally ran until June 2019, prematurely by a further two years until 2021. This was announced by the club on Thursday.

“Niclas is a world-class right wing. And also an identification figure who consistently delivers her performance and is important for our team,”said Kiel’s sports director Viktor Szilagyi in a statement:” This is a signal for the future.

Ekberg, who has been playing for the North Germans since 2012, added:”We have a great team and I am looking forward to continue to fight with these guys for the THW Kiel and to lead the club into a good future. Kiel is something very special for a handball player.”
