Ice hockey: Season for Olympic hero Fauser ends

For Gerrit Fauser, the season ends just four days after winning the silver medal at the Olympic Games.

The striker from the Grizzlys Wolfsburg suffered a shoulder injury in Wednesday evening’s game against the Straubing Tigers (1:4) and is no longer able to accumulate in the current season of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

Fauser (28) has to be operated on because of the injury from the first DEL operation after the Pyeongchang Winter Games.
