ATP: Peya defeats Marach in Austrian duel in Acapulco

Alexander Peya and his partner Nikola Mektic are in the semi-finals of the doubles competition in Acapulco: The pair beat Oliver March and Mate Pavic in two sets.

In the duel between two Austrian-Croatian pairs, Peya and Mektic beat the ruling Australian Open winners 7:5 and 7:5 after 91 minutes. The winning duo managed to break the Marach/Matic service three times and Peya/Mektic only gave up their service once. In the semi-finals, they will now face Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares, a former partner of Peya.

The 37-year-old Peya is currently in 44th place on the double world rankings, in Acapulco he is missing two more match wins for his 16th place. Victory in the tournament.
