ATP: Zverev justifies Ferrero’s separation:”Was disrespectful to the team.”

Germany’s top player Alexander Zverev has caused his departure from coach Juan Carlos Ferrero with a fierce fight on the sidelines of the Australian Open.

“There was a moment when he was disrespectful to the whole team,” said the 20-year-old after his semi-final move to the ATP tournament in Acapulco, Mexico:”That’s why we had to end the cooperation.

In the previous week, it had become known that Zverev and the former world number one Ferrero had broken up again after only seven months. In July 2017, the Spaniard joined the coach and coach team of the Fifth World Rankings in July 2017, which also includes his father Alexander Zverev senior, brother Mischa, mother Irina and fitness coach Jez Green.

At the $1.789 million event in Acapulco, Zverev had reached the semi-finals for the first time this season. The Hamburg player, who had been seeded on two occasions, will now face a 6-4,6-1 draw with the American Ryan Harrison against Juan Martin del Potro (Argentina), ninth on the world rankings.
