Golf: Wrist injury: Kaymer takes tournament break

Golf pro Martin Kaymer has to take a forced break after his injury-related assignment at the US tournament in Palm Springs.

“I was at the doctor’s in Munich. He told me that a bone has moved in my wrist,”said the former world number one on Friday in a video post on Twitter.

It is not clear at the moment how long Kaymer will have to wait:”I don’t know when I will return to the golf course. I will wait until it heals properly,”said the 33-year-old. The displaced bone had caused inflammation. That’s why Kaymer got “some injections”.

Now Germany’s top golfer wants to devote himself to private projects for which he has not had enough time. In Palm Springs, Kaymer had given up after the first lap.
