ATP: Alexander Peya misses double final in Acapulco

Alexander Peya and Nikola Mektic missed the double final at the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Acapulco. The Austrian-Croatian duo lost Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares in two sets.

Alexander Peya won twelve of his 15 tournament victories alongside Bruno Soares, and in the semi-final of Acapulco the Austrian had to give way to his former double partner.

The British-Brazilian combination won 7-5 and 6-3 against Peya and Mektic. In the final, Murray/Soares face the Bryan brothers, who won the second semi-final in a purely American duel against Ryan Harrison and Jack Sock.

The 37-year-old veteran from Vienna and his Croatian companion had already narrowly missed their first joint title in Rio de Janeiro and Sofia. In the quarter-finals, Peya/Mektic held their own against Australian Open winners Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic.
