ATP: Goffin says for Indian Wells and Davis Cup

David Goffin will be missing from the Belgian team in the Davis Cup quarter-finals against the USA. This was announced by the World Rankings Seventh via Twitter.

The chances of a recurrence of the Belgian team’s final are dropping rapidly: David Goffin, the country’s number one player, will not participate in the Belgian quarter-finals in the USA. Goffin has been out of action since the semi-final of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Rotterdam, where a ball bounced from his club frame to his eye and Goffin had to break off the match.

Since then, the top ten-man, who led his team to the finals in 2015 and 2017, has been training in his home country. Neither does it see itself in a position to participate in the first ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the year in Indian Wells. Goffin’s return is expected in Miami, and the Davis Cup against the Americans is expected the following week. But David Goffin wants to be back in Europe for further investigations.
