ITF: Julia Grabher triumphs in Sao Paulo

Julia Grabher has won the ITF tournament in Sao Paulo. In the final the 21-year-old from Dornbirn won in three sets against the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.

After her semi-final victory in the Austrian women’s duel against Barbara Haas, Julia Grabher has followed suit: The clay court specialist also won the final in the Brazilian metropolis with 6:4,3:6 and 6:2.

Against Zidansek, who defeated Mariana Duque-Marino, the tournament’s favourite Mariana Duque-Marino in the preliminary round, Grabher had to go over the full distance again – the Vorarlberg player had already been successful against Haas in three sets.

For the number six of the tournament, it was the second triumph at an ITF event endowed with 25,000 US dollars – and the sixth individual title overall. In the world ranking, Grabher will move up from position 251 to the top 200 – and thus significantly improve her career-high.
