Recently, DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors admitted that he is struggling with depression, and now Kevin Love has also spoken on the subject. The Cleveland Cavaliers forward described a panic attack in an article at the Players’ Tribune.
In the article “Everyone is going through something” Love has described in detail how he wrote the article “Everyone is going through something” on 5. I had a panic attack on the Atlanta Hawks during the league match against the Atlanta Hawks on November 2017 and thought he was dying,”I just hoped my heart would stop racing,”Love described the scene. Family problems, little sleep and increased pressure due to the weak start of his cavaliers would have played a role.
In the following days, he was particularly pleased that his “episode” was not known and that no one had reported about it. With the help of the Cavaliers, however, he then chose a psychotherapist whom he has visited regularly ever since. That helped him a lot, writes Love.
The 29-year-old, one of the reasons why he wanted to make all this public, gave DeRozan’s statements from the previous week:”I have been playing against DeMar for years, but I could never have guessed that he was dealing with anything,”says Love. Accordingly, it is important to create a better environment for talking about mental health.
“Everyone is going through something we can’t see others,”was the conclusion of the 29-year-old. That makes it all the more important to talk openly about his problems.
