WTA: As an introduction to I. W.: Muguruza shines at the Oscars

Wimbledon winner Garbine Muguruza has prepared herself for the Indian Wells Hockkaräter tournament with a special performance. At the Oscar ceremony together with Skistar Lindsey Vonn, the Spaniard walked the Red Carpet.

The Indian sports journalist with the twitter name “Nikhila” stung a bit, but in the end she gave Garbine Muguruza some praise,”I still don’t know what she does at the Oscars. But damn it, she looks stunning!”, the editor chirped. Below two photos appeared. One showed the Spaniard solo – the other on US ski star Lindsey Vonn’s side. Both are sponsored by a luxury watchmaker who had invited the third place in the world rankings and Vonn to Beverly Hills for one of the showbiz’s most prestigious events.

Muguruza stepped over the red carpet before the Oscar ceremony. And the 24-year-old had a lot of fun – but in her cleverly cut black dress she was also a bit shy. Like she’s secretly asking herself,”What am I doing here?”

Only a few hours later she had the right answer. Muguruza had himself photographed with a recent Oscar winner: basketball legend Kobe Bryant (39), who wrote the script for “Dear Basketball”. The film was awarded the title “Best Animated Short Film”.

The trip to crazy L. A. The two-time Grand Slam winner, who recently regained her ascending form in Dubai (semi-final) and Doha (final), will certainly not be forgotten so quickly. In the meantime, however, the focus is no longer on Hollywood, but on her actual job on the court. At the end of the week, the third-placed Muguruza will play her first match at the $8.65 million tournament in Indian Wells, which is considered the fifth major event. In 2017, she reached the quarter-finals in the palm-fringed tennis garden in the Californian desert. After a walk-through in round one, the opponent on Friday or Saturday is either Wildcard holder Eugenie Bouchard (Canada) or a qualifier.
