NFL: Monster contract: Evans extends Tampa Bay Buccaneers contract

Mike Evans extends his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to become one of the NFL’s best paid wide receivers.

As NFL Network Insider Ian Raoport reports, this is a five-year contract that will bring Evans up to 82.5 million dollars. 55 million dollars are guaranteed over the five-year period. This is the highest contract ever signed by a wide receiver.

This makes Evans the second most expensive wide receiver in the NFL after Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brown earns $17 million a year from the Steelers, and up to $16.5 million from Evans.

The Bucs had beaten Evans to position 7 in 2014. In his first four seasons, he played at least 1,000 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns.
