ATP: The “Djoker” is “on fire”: Comeback in Indian Wells

Novak Djokovic will make his comeback in Indian Wells on Sunday after an elbow surgery. The former world number one has only played four matches in the past eight months.

Novak Djokovic doesn’t seem to know where to go with all the anticipation of his return to the ATP circuit. And the Serbian last of all left no doubt that he feels physically and mentally ready for a new attempt. Proof pleasing: The “Djoker” posted a picture from an airport bus, in which he stretches in a very good mood. The motto is clear: don’t lose any time – and leave no space unused.

Even David Copperfield must fear the 30-year-old. Djokovic announced for fun that he would “steal”the super-magician’s show in Las Vegas.”Be ready. I know your trick,”he wrote on Twitter about a picture that shows him smiling behind a seemingly floating fire,”Who is still’ on fire’ this weekend,”Djokovic asked.

The twelve-time Grand Slam winner in any case, after deciding to have surgery on the elbow after his last 16 at the Australian Open in January against Hyeon Chung (South Korea). In Melbourne, after a six-month break from the race, he had just celebrated his comeback in Melbourne because of the stubborn pain in his arm.

In the run-up to the Indian Wells Masters, Djokovic, currently the No. 13 in the ATP ranking, trained at home of his coach André Agassi in Las Vegas. Even Agassis’s wife Steffi Graf visited a unit.

For his former coach Boris Becker, however, the physical conditions of “Nole” will not be the main role in the coming weeks:”Psychologically, the challenge will be much greater,” Becker said recently on the fringes of the Laureus Prize-giving ceremony in Monte Carlo, explaining:”It all depends on how much you accept the dirty work, i. e. to train on Monday morning or, in difficult external conditions, to work in the” Nole “.

Djokovic has won five titles in Indian Wells so far. On Sunday noon local time, the Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel is waiting for him in his opening match. The Serb will be on fire, that’s for sure.
