Football World Champion Bastian Schweinsteiger (33) and his wife Ana Ivanovic (30) have become parents for the first time. The former world number one in tennis gave birth to a son this weekend, Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic announced this in the early Monday morning of German time via the social networks.

“Welcome to the world, our little boy,” wrote the German at Instagram, his wife added:”The joy and happiness we feel cannot be described in words.

Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic got married in Venice in 2016. The couple live together in the USA, where Schweinsteiger plays for Chicago Fire in the North American professional MLS league. Ivanovic had ended her career after the 2016 season. Her greatest success was her triumph at the French Open in Paris in 2008.
