Olympia: ÖOC supports Graz application for Winter Games 2026

At its board meeting in Vienna on Wednesday, the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) unanimously decided to support the city of Graz’s bid for the 2026 Winter Games.

The deadline for submission of the letter of intent to the IOC expires at the end of March.

“This is an important first step. In order to be able to enter a first preparatory phase with the IOC, a clear commitment of the Styrian provincial government to the feasibility study or for a definitive application,” said ÖOC President Karl Stoss.

“We welcome the initiative. Now it is time to define the framework conditions in detail in the next few days,” said ÖOC General Secretary Peter Mennel.206
