NBA: Kyrie Irving has to undergo knee surgery – Celtics Star drops out longer

The Boston Celtics seem to have to do without superstar Kyrie Irving for even longer. The Point Guard will have left knee surgery on Saturday. This was officially announced by the team on Friday.

Irving had already had to suspend the last four Celtics games due to injury. The 26-year-old has been complaining of knee pain for weeks. The operation is now intended to remedy the situation.

How long Irving will continue to fail after the procedure is currently unknown.

The Celtics explained that further information would only be available after the operation, but also made it clear themselves that it would only be a “minimally invasive” intervention.
