The many employees on the tennis courts take good care of the tennis stars and fulfil almost every wish of the athletes – including the ball children. Now a ball girl was allowed a special break at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Miami.
Nick Kyrgios is sitting on his bench and zips on his bottle. A young girl stands in front of him and protects the superstar from the heat in Miami with a parasol: “Come sit next to me,” Kyrgios said and asked the ball girl to sit next to him.
The radiance in the young lady’s face spoke volumes: She was visibly happy about the invitation and rocking happily to the music – of course with the parasol over Kyrgios. So the beaming ball girl had not forgotten her task out of sheer enthusiasm.
Tennis fans occasionally find such scenes on the world’s tennis courts. Novak Djokovic once asked a ball boy to join him during a rain break at the French Open. The “Djoker” took the visibly delighted boy’s umbrella, briefly swapped roles and drank a sip of water on the bench with him.
