ATP: Bryans win 38th Masters title against Marach and Pavic in Monte Carlo

Next ATP Masters 1000 title for Bob and Mike Bryan: The legendary Americans defeated Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic in two sets in the final of Monte Carlo.

A few weeks ago Bob and Mike Bryan celebrated their 37th birthday against the Russian pairing Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev in Miami. Titles of the ATP Masters 1000 series were won, now the brothers in Monte Carlo followed up before the eyes of Prince Albert: In the final they beat the ruling Australian Open Champions Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic after 78 minutes 7:6 (5) and 6:3.

In the tie-break of the first set, the Styrian and his Croatian partner had every chance of winning the first stage: At 5-4, however, Marach had to give up both serve points, the Americans used their third set point at that time. Already in the tenth game of the first set, the Bryans worked out two possibilities on the Austrian’s serve. Marach, however, fended off with strong nerves and a high risk.

In round two, a break was enough for Mike and Bob to play home safely. To her sixth title in Monte Carlo and her 116th ever. In the Doubles Race to London, both teams cemented their supremacy. After winning three tournaments in 2018, Marach and Pavic, as well as the Bryans, are already planning for the season finale in London’s O2 Arena.
