ATP: Gojowczyk also eliminated in Barcelona

Peter Gojowczyk (Munich) is the last German player to be eliminated in the first round of the ATP tournament in Barcelona. The 28-year-old from Munich lost 4:6, 4:6 to the Argentine sand court specialist Guido Pella.

It was Gojowczyk’s fourth first-round defeat in a row. He also lost at the Masters tournaments in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo.

Mischa Zverev (Hamburg) had failed at the 2.794 million euro sand court tournament on Monday on Argentine Leonardo Mayer, Philipp Kohlschreiber (Augsburg) had cancelled at short notice due to back problems.
