NBA: Mavs: Matthews wants to draw his player option

Wesley Matthews will probably continue to play for the Dallas Mavericks. He announced that he wanted to draw his player option for the coming season.

That’s what he said to the Mavs homepage. Matthews could have become an unrestricted free agent because he has a $18.2 million player option in his contract for the coming season.

However, he now announced that he would take this option, extending his contract by one year. In addition, he received the OK from the team doctors to be allowed to train fully again. The 31-year-old had missed the end of the regular season due to a fracture in the upper fibula.
