ATP: Budapest: Yannick Maden in a quarter-final for the first time

Yannick Maden reached his first quarter-final on the ATP tour at the tournament in Budapest. The 28-year-old Lucky Loser won the German duel against Maximilian Marterer, six years younger, 6:1, 6:3.

In the last eight round, Maden will face the top seeded Frenchman Lucas Pouille or John Millman from Australia.

Maggots and torturers faced each other for the first time on the ATP tour. At Challenger level, Maden won two of the three duels against Marterer.

Davis Cup player Jan-Lennard Struff had already made it into the quarter-finals on Wednesday, his 28th birthday. The Warsteiner will play Marco Cecchinato of Italy in the final eight.
