Tennis: BMW Open 2018: TV broadcast, live stream and participants

The BMW Open 2018 is the first ATP tournament of the current season in Germany. Here you can find all important information about the tennis competition in Munich – including TV broadcasts, live streams and the field of participants around Alexander Zverev.

While the WTA was already a guest in Stuttgart, the ATP is now also honoring itself on German soil. After Munich there will be tournaments in Stuttgart, Halle/Westphalia and Hamburg.

Qualifying for the BMW Open will take place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April. The main tournament starts on Monday and is held daily until Sunday, May 6th. The qualification starts at 10.30 am, the actual matchdays always start at 11 am.

The 103rd International Tennis Championships of Bavaria, as the BMW Open is also called, will be held in the Bavarian capital, more precisely on the grounds of the MTTC Iphitos. The game is played on sand.

Only a semi-final on Saturday and the final on Sunday will be shown on TV. Bayerischer Rundfunk is responsible for this in its free-TV broadcast.

DAZN will offer the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well as a quarter-final in its live stream on the Internet from Tuesday. The so-called “Netflix des Sports” has a lot of experience in tennis transmission. After all, numerous WTA tournaments as well as the Davis Cup and the Fed Cup run on DAZN.

Alternatively, all games between Monday and Friday can be viewed on ran.de and sportdeutschland.tv. Ran also shows a semi-final on Saturday in his live stream.

The top seeded player is Alexander Zverev. The youngster won the 250cc tournament last year and leads a whole squad of German players.

Overall, the audience can look forward to five top 20 players, including Fabio Fognini and Roberto Bautista-Agut. French superstar Gael Monfils is to celebrate his comeback after his back injury.

The total amount to be played at the tournament in Munich is 561,345 euros. The winner will receive 85.945 Euro as well as a new BMW and traditional Lederhosen.
