ATP: In detention: Maggots fail in Budapest quarter-finals

Yannick Maden missed his first semi-final on the ATP tour. The Stuttgart player could not make his quarter-final match in Budapest, which was interrupted on Friday due to darkness, after the resumption, Maden lost 6:2, 1:6, 4:6 to the Australian John Millman on Saturday afternoon.

Already the entry into the round of the last eight was the greatest success of his career for the 28-year-old maggot.

The final set was 4:5 on Friday evening, when the referee put a provisional end to the match. Millman made short work on Saturday, to zero he won the game and with it the match on his own serve.

On Friday, Davis Cup player Jan-Lennard Struff (Warstein) missed his first semi-final on the ATP tour in seven months in the Hungarian capital. Two days after his 28th birthday, the seventh seeded Italian Marco Cecchinato lost 7-5, 4-6, 2-6 to Struff, who last reached the semi-finals in St. Petersburg in September 2017.
