ATP: Cecchinato wins Lucky Loser title in Budapest

Marco Cecchinato won the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Budapest. The Italian defeated John Millman in two sets.

The double shift was too much for John Millman: The Australian had to finish his semi-final against Aljaz Bedene in Budapest at noon (and did so in the longest possible way – with a win in the tiebreak), then in the final against Marco Ceccinato. However, the Italian was ahead 7:5 and 6:4.

Cecchinato came into the main field as Lucky Loser – and won the title as Andrey Rublev did last year in Umag and Leonardo Mayer in Hamburg with his second chance. Cecchinato has no pause for breath: In Munich he starts with a special permit – and starts with compatriot Fabio Fognini.
