ATP: Stan Wawrinka works with coach Magnus Norman again before Madrid

The Swiss Stan Wawrinka and his successful coach Magnus Norman are reunited – at least temporarily. The three-time Grand Slam champion is preparing for his comeback with the Swede.

A picture Wawrinka posted on Twitter shows his current coach Yannick Fattebert in a lively discussion with Norman – apparently on a clay court in the Lake Geneva region.

The French-Swiss newspaper Le Matin wrote that “Stan The man” and his former mentor are preparing for the planned comeback next week in Madrid in a ten-day training camp.

With him at his side, Wawrinka became the winner of three Grand Slam tournaments. After two knee operations in 2017, the Swiss player played only four tournaments in 2018 and has not played in Marseilles since mid-February.

Wawrinka also relied on the help of star fitness coach Pierre Paganini. He works mainly with Roger Federer, but helps his compatriot to make a long-term comeback after protracted knee problems.
