ATP: Marin Cilic with bad luck in the game and good luck in love

The top seeded Marin Cilic failed in his opening match at the 250cc tournament in Istanbul. But he shouldn’t be too sad.

Defending champion Cilic had a walk-through in round one, in round two he lost to Malek Jaziri from Tunisia on Thursday afternoon with 4:6, 2.6. The Croatian had to accept five service losses. Earlier, the number two of the tournament, Damir Dzumhur, had failed 2:6, 6:0, 2:6 due to Thomas Fabbiano.

At least for Cilic, the defeat shouldn’t be that bad. He had married his long-time friend Kristina Milkovic on Saturday. They met in 2008 in a Davis Cup match where Milkovic worked as a hostess.

On Thursday morning Cilic had posted a photo of the day of their wedding and wrote about the “happiest day of my life”.
